The Review Committee granted the authorization provided that children 18 and younger would be restricted from viewing, considering the morbidity of the story focused on "fatal destruction of a bourgeois nucleus". The Second edition was presented with further cuts for a total of 44 meters and obtained a reduction of the age restriction to children 14 and younger.
