Sua Eccellenza si fermò a mangiare (His Excellency Stayed to Dinner)

Direction: Mario Mattòli

The Review Committee, by a majority verdict, authorizes the film on condition that it is forbidden to minors under the age of 16, that a scene is cut and that some lines of the dialogue are modified, as they are considered to be “offensive to the decorum and the prestige of the officials of the Forces of Public Order”. The new version of 1971, presented with the addition of 150 meters of the scene that had previously been cut, is authorized without imposing any age limits. Following a report by the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (S.I.A.E.) the screening of the film is suspended because it has been presented with the deceptive title Dott. Zanzarella medico personale del fondatore dell'impero (Doctor Zanzarella the personal doctor of the founder of the empire). In the attached video you can watch the film cuts, which are preserved at the Cineteca Nazionale (Rome).
