Bella di giorno/Belle de jour

Direction: Luis Buñuel

The Italian edition of "Belle de jour" went through a very troubled censorship process, starting from the prohibition to children under 18 years imposed by the Auditing Commission, unanimous in considering the film as "inappropriate to the particular developmental age sensitivity". The Second Edition, presented again just with one cut, was not recognized as a new edition and therefore the judgment was suspended. Only the third edition, thanks to the changes made, obtained a reduction of the age limit to children under 14 years. Being the film is a French-Italian co-production, it was not recognized of Italian nationality and therefore exempt from the national economic benefits.
