On July 10, 1944, ANICA - Associazione Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche ed Affini (National Association for Film and Audio-visual Industries) was instituted. During those years the Allied censorship played a prominent role, so ANICA tried to be an intermediary with a view to relaunch Italian cinema.
