Film cuts of the first original sound edition

The first instance Review Committee expresses its opinion against the public screening of the film. Following an appeal against this decision the general release of the film, in both the original language and the dubbed versions, is authorized with a viewing prohibition for minors under the age of 16 and with eight cuts. The revised version of the film, presented with some modifications in 1969, obtains authorization with a viewing prohibition for minors under the age of 14. In the videos attached here, you can see both the series of film cuts: those of the dubbed edition and those in the original language. We have chosen to show them in the exact order in which they are preserved at the Cineteca Nazionale, to respect their original format. As you may notice, the first cut proposed in the first video is in French, though that's the series of cuts of the dubbed edition: this is clearly due to a mistake, made when the reel of film cuts was composed. At the Cineteca Nazionale, is also preserved a sound dupe of the original language film cuts, currently in advanced stage of decay.
