The Review Committed authorized the public screening of the film, provided that children 18 and younger would be restricted from viewing, and that two cuts would be made. The 2nd Edition confirmed the age restriction both in the first and second appeal, because "from its very first sequences the film drags the audience into an environment of violence, vulgarity, sex, and delinquency." The 3rd Edition obtained a reduction of the age limit to children 14 and under.
