The film received the authorization for public projection, provided that two cuts would be made, and that children 18 and under would be restricted from viewing; the restriction was motivated by the scenes of remarkable eroticism and the impressive scene of torture and death by poisoning of Suor Giulia ". The 2nd Edition, presented with further cuts for a total of 471 meters, obtained the removal of restrictions.
