The Review Committee expressed a favourable opinion for the public screening of the film, provided that children 18 and younger would be restricted from viewing, because of the “many sadistic-violent scenes and their sexual content"; the decision was confirmed at appeal. The 2nd Edition, after eliminating three scenes, obtained a reduction of the age restriction to children 14 and under. Only the 3rd Edition was declared appropriate for public screening without age or condition limitations. Attached is the text of the lawsuit presented to the Florence police by the mother of one of the victims, in addition to the complaint for illicit use of the title.
