“Due to the pathological figure of the main character and some particularly erotic scenes”, the Review Committee authorize the film programming, provided that it is prohibited to minors under 18 and that four scenes are cut. Vittorio De Sica, producer and director of the film, announces that he will renounce to appeal, in order to prepare in time the final copy of the film, to be presented at the Venice Film Festival. On the Second edition, despite the changes, the age limit is reduced to 14, but not revoked.
